Clean belts. Safe process. Increased shelf life.
Integrated UV sterilization in meat production
When it comes to cutting, deboning, and packaging, hygiene on the conveyor belt determines product safety, shelf life, and waste. Our integrable UVC modules continuously disinfect belt surfaces during the ongoing process—without chemicals, without residues, and without contact. This keeps the bacterial count low, even during shift operation and short cleaning windows.

Why use UVC on conveyor belts?
No chance for germs
- Continuous germ reduction at the contact surface: Cross-contamination is prevented directly in the process.
- Chemical-free & residue-free: Ideal for sensitive meat and sausage products.
- Audit-ready: microbiologically tested solution, seamlessly integrable into HACCP and IFS concepts.
- Greater quality and efficiency: lower microbial contamination stabilizes processes and can extend shelf life.
How UVC works
Targeted and sustainable in the ongoing process
UVC light at 253.7 nm damages the DNA of bacteria, viruses, and mold, preventing them from multiplying. The UVC module placed above the belt directs the radiation specifically at the contact surfaces — energy-saving, dry, and cold.
The conveyor belt is continuously disinfected during operation, ensuring hygiene in meat processing. UVC can be used safely not only on conveyor belts, but also in numerous other areas of meat production, where it offers a sustainable and chemical-free alternative to chemical cleaning.

Customer Testimonals
Meat processing company Böser Frischfleisch GmbH
“In our EC cutting plant, we use the steriBELT system specifically for disinfecting conveyor belts. The risk of cross-contamination is particularly high where large quantities of cut meat pass by. We have been able to significantly reduce these risks by continuously disinfecting the belts with UVC. The solution works and fits in perfectly with our hygiene standards.”

More uses for UVC in the meat industry

Cutting and transport belts
Low-germ transport immediately after cutting to prevent cross-contamination thanks to permanent belt sterilization with steriBELT® 2.0.

Slicing/Portioning
Hygiene on the loading belt in front of the thermoforming machine protects the product and line from germ contamination and cross-contamination. Belt sterilization with steriBELT® 2.0

Process water
Disinfection of process water using UVC modules integrated into tanks, containers, or cooling towers with steriCON®

Packaging
Germs in packaging – risk of cross-contamination. These are first sterilized with eosUV OF or steriBELT® 2.0 to ensure a safe packaging process.

Evaporator fins
IRMCOMPACT reliably inactivates microorganisms on equipment surfaces and in the air. It helps prevent biofilm growth on evaporator coils, while simultaneously disinfecting the passing airflow.

Storage rooms
Simple disinfection of air and surfaces in storage rooms and warehouses using the sterisol UVC device.
Advantages of UVC disinfection on conveyor belts
Peschl UVC modules are compact and easy to retrofit — even on existing conveyor belts. The systems are energy-efficient and low-maintenance. Your advantages in meat processing:
- Consistently low total germ count – prevention of cross-contamination.
- Constant process hygiene throughout the entire shift – stable hygiene concept.
- Less chemicals and water for intermediate disinfection – cleaning remains efficient.
For OEMs & retrofit
Flexible use of UVC modules
As a standard module for machine manufacturers (OEM) or as a retrofit for existing lines, Peschl Ultraviolet provides robust UVC solutions for air, surfaces, and water—from individual machines to complete lines. UVC hygiene has become indispensable, especially in the meat industry.
